FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The difference between Lifetime, Limited Lifetime and Limited Warranties

Most warranties are offered in three options: lifetime, limited lifetime and limited warranties.
A Lifetime warranty typically guarantees against defects in material and workmanship, with no set time limit for submitting a claim.

EnergyWall Windows offers a Lifetime Warranty against Glass Breakage. This is not included in every window type and is a chargeable option.

Limited Lifetime warranties cover specific parts and defects, lasting for a specific timerange.

EnergyWall Limited Lifetime Warranties cover products for 30 years from date of installation.

EnergyWall offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty for EnergyWeld Select, EnergyTech Plus, and Series 3000 Window and Patio lines.

A Limited warranty will often include limited parts and defects in workmanship, with a shorter length of coverage.

EnergyWall Limited Warranties cover our products for 2 - 25 years from the date of installation, depending on the product. Refer to your warranty to confirm your warranty terms.

EnergyWall offers a Limited Warranty for Entry Doors, Garden Windows, and Exterior Paint & Laminate.

Manufacturer Warranty vs. Dealer/Installer Warranty

A manufacturer warranty typically warrants a product as being free from defects only. An installer warranty will often include a guarantee against the quality of their installation.

As a manufacturer, EnergyWall Windows & Doors Warranties does NOT include cost of labor and can make no guarantees to the capabilities of the installation team. Consult with your installer to confirm that they offer their own warranty that includes cost of labor.

A EnergyWall Warranty covers against defects in workmanship and materials under normal wear and tear. We also provide warranty for frame and sash, insulating glass, UltraCap, paint and laminate. Refer to your warranty for the specific length of time that you warranty offers coverage.

Condensation on the prime window or patio door glass is the natural result of excess moisture in the air and does not indicate a faulty installation. Changes in temperature and humidity may create temporary conditions of condensation.

The manufacturer cannot make any guarantees regarding condensation.

The most common causes of ice forming on the inside of your window are air leakage and too much humidity in the home. When cold air enters the home and meets the warm air within, water vapor forms, which freezes and forms ice crystals when the temperature drops below the dew point. Frost occuring on the outside of your window is often caused by the same issues listed above.

First, determine if the issue is caused by humidity or an air leak. An air leak may be caused by poor insulation around the window frame, and can be remedied by sealing the leak. To reduce humidity within your home, run a dehumidifier to balance the humidity levels, run an exhaust fan when cooking or showering, install a heat recovery ventilator (HRV) to circulate air, and turn up the heat inside your home.

Consider weatherizing your windows, and leave your curtains open, as they can trap moisture against the glass, causing more frost. Run your ceiling fans in reverse setting (slow, clockwise) to raise warm air to the ceiling, helping to circulate warm air through the room.

EnergyWall Windows & Doors® cannot make any guarantees regarding condensation.
